Structural repair specialist with 20+ years in foundation work. Sal started Long Island Foundation Co. in 2008 after watching homeowners lose thousands on crack injections that failed within years. He brought a licensed PE onto staff and made engineered pier and carbon fiber systems the company's signature offering.
Sal grew up on the south shore of Long Island and started working structural repair in his early twenties. For the first decade, he worked for two of the bigger regional contractors and watched a pattern repeat: homeowners were sold crack injection for problems injection couldn't fix. The cracks came back, the walls kept moving, and the homeowners had spent real money on a band-aid.
In 2008, Sal started Long Island Foundation Co. with a simple idea: diagnose first, fix with the right system. Not the cheapest system. Not the easiest upsell. The system the physics of the wall actually required.
In 2014, he brought David Chen, PE onto staff. Every non-trivial job now runs through an engineer before a single strap or pier goes in the ground. That single decision separates us from every other foundation contractor in the Nassau and Suffolk SERP — most don't have an engineer on staff, and most jobs aren't engineered.
Today Sal still walks every big job before work starts, and still picks up most of the assessment calls himself. If you call during the day, odds are you're going to talk to him directly.
