Twelve of the most common questions we get. No marketing fluff.

01How much does foundation repair cost on Long Island?+
Crack injection runs $500 to $3,000. Carbon fiber reinforcement runs $4,000 to $12,000 per wall. Helical or push pier systems run $1,800 to $3,000 per pier, typical jobs needing 4 to 10 piers. Full foundation repair budgets on LI land between $5,000 and $25,000.
02Does homeowners insurance cover foundation repair?+
Usually no — standard homeowners policies exclude settlement, soil movement, and wear and tear. Exception: if the damage was caused by a covered peril like burst plumbing, vehicle impact, or certain flood events. We help document the cause in writing so you can file correctly.
03How do I know if my cracks are serious?+
Vertical hairlines under 1/8 inch are usually cosmetic settlement. Horizontal cracks, stair-step cracks in block walls, cracks wider than 1/4 inch, or cracks that grow year over year are structural. Call for an inspection and we'll diagnose on site.
04What's the difference between crack injection and engineered repair?+
Crack injection seals a visible crack. It works for settled, static cracks where the wall has stopped moving. It does NOT stop active movement. For bowing walls, settling foundations, or growing cracks, you need engineered repair: carbon fiber, wall anchors, or piers.
05How long does foundation repair take?+
Crack injection: half a day. Carbon fiber installation: one day. Helical pier installation: 1-2 days for most jobs. Waterproofing: 2-3 days. Crawl space encapsulation: 2-4 days. We give a firm schedule in writing before we start.
06Will the work disturb my home or yard?+
Interior work (carbon fiber, wall anchors, waterproofing) is livable during install. Exterior pier work requires 3-foot excavation at each pier location — we backfill and restore. Yard restoration is always included in our price.
07Are your piers really warrantied for life?+
Yes. Supportworks-certified systems carry a lifetime transferable warranty. When you sell the home, the warranty transfers to the new owner — which actually increases resale value, not decreases it.
08Do you pull permits?+
Yes. Every town in Nassau and Suffolk has different requirements. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and deliver you a closed permit file when the job is done.
09What about financing?+
We partner with Hearth and GreenSky. 0% promotional periods, low fixed-rate loans, no prepayment penalty. 60-second pre-qualification with no credit impact. Most homeowners use financing for jobs over $5,000.
10Are you licensed and insured?+
Nassau HIC #H2811400000. Suffolk HIC #61442-H. $2M general liability. Workers comp on every man. Licensed PE on staff. Supportworks certified. BBB A+. We email copies of any credential before a job starts.
11Can I stay in the house during work?+
For almost all jobs, yes. We work with minimal dust containment in basements and we time noisy equipment around standard business hours. Only full pier lifts temporarily restrict one area of the first floor.
12How soon can you come out?+
Within a week for free assessments. Emergency structural calls (severe bowing, large active cracks) we prioritize and get out within 48 hours.
